With a surface area of 400 m2, the former Beauvais Christmas fairy rink acquired by Agglo du Beauvaisis has been divided into two. For this Christmas 2023, the city of Hermes (Oise) recovered a 200 m2 one and installed it on Lardenois Island.
Nothing is lost, everything is transformed and twice before. The synthetic ice rink purchased for 200,000 euros in 2015 by the city of Beauvais for Christmas celebrations opens again in December.
Today owned by the Beauvais Agglomeration, which purchased it from the city of Beauvais for 36,870 euros in 2022, which also made the left-wing opposition of Beauvais tremblethis structure was cleverly divided into two 200 m2 ice plains, which were installed in Crévecoeur-le-Grand and Hermes,“at the two equidistant points of the Agglomeration”, specifies the mayor of Hermes, Grégory Palandre, who does not shy away from his pleasure. “When we talked about Christmas activities, the ice rink often appearedhe explains. We had the opportunity to collect this equipment at Agglo”, adds the elected official who did not need to be questioned. Since this announcement, requests have arisen, particularly for centers for adults with disabilities or adapted structures for young people.
As the opportunity presented itself to the thief, the city of Hermes chose to install it on the island of Lardenois, in a suitable location. “It feels like you are skating in the middle of the water, it is magnificent” continues the chosen one who was impressed with the quality of the skiing. “And again, we don’t use any products.”
Official opening on December 2nd
Unveiled on Friday night, the ice rink will open on Saturday, December 2, at 2:30 p.m. The first skaters will be able to slide for 3 euros for 30 minutes. It is recommended not to forget your gloves.
